Coyle weighing up recall for Bolton winger

Owen Coyle has revealed Bolton Wanderers winger Martin Petrov is desperate to face former club Manchester City this weekend. Petrov left City at the end of last season after his contract expired and he was critical of the way his old club handled his departure. He subsequently signed for Bolton and, after initially starting in Coyle's side, has been forced to play a substitute's role in recent weeks following a spell out injured. The Bulgarian came off the bench to score in last week's 2-2 draw with Blackpool and is pushing for a recall to the starting line-up for Saturday's trip to the City of Manchester Stadium.

Desperate

"He's desperate to play and rightly so," said Coyle in the Bolton News. "Martin Petrov is a top player. He was in the team and got injured and Matt Taylor has come in and done well. "Martin has had to be patient but he works his socks off in training and is a consummate professional in how he looks after himself and his body. "He came on [against Blackpool] and scored a goal, and could've had a couple more. "If you're not in the team of course you're frustrated but they're part of the group and they know it."
