Israeli defender unfazed by Chelsea test

Dekel Keinan believes Blackpool are capable of springing a surprise against league leaders Chelsea. The Seasiders are due at Stamford Bridge on Sunday for a contest which will test their top flight credentials to the limit. Chelsea, the reigning Premier League champions, have burst out of the blocks this season, notching 17 goals in four consecutive victories. Blackpool, though, have impressed since stepping up to the top tier and Keinan insists they will head to the capital this weekend with no fear. He told the club's official website: "Everybody knows that there are big differences between us and Chelsea but I'm sure if we work hard and fight for each other we can do something."

Serious

Keinan, who joined Blackpool from Maccabi Haifa in July, is hoping he will be handed another opportunity to impress by Ian Holloway against the table-topping Blues. Had the game been on Saturday he would have been unable to make his fourth appearance of the season because it would have coincided with Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. However, he is very much in contention and is determined to help the Seasiders build on their bright start to the campaign. "I will not miss the game so that is lucky for me," added Keinan. "I'm not fully fit yet but I'm feeling better and better. I know that I need to improve my game and be stronger in the Premier League. I'll continue to do a lot of personal training because I have to be serious to succeed."
