Stoke City have won the race to land Portsmouth starlet Florent Cuvelier, skysports.com can reveal.
A host of clubs were battling it out for the highly-rated midfielder, who was keen to quit the troubled South Coast club.
Skysports.com revealed last month that Stoke were in competition with the likes of Manchester City, Tottenham and Fulham for the 17-year-old.
And now the Potters have concluded a deal for the Belgium youth international, who has agreed a two-year deal at the Britannia Stadium.
"Florent is delighted to have finalised a deal with Stoke," his advisor Alex Levack of Sidekick Management told skysports.com.
"He was very impressed by Stoke from the off, their professionalism and enthusiasm, and it did not take long to agree.
"Florent is now looking forward to being back with a Premier League club and pushing into the first-team squad over the next season."
