Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Nelsen has admitted that he is already thinking about his next step when his contract expires in two years' time.
The New Zealand captain has not ruled out a possible swansong at Wellington Phoenix once his body is unable to withstand the rigours of the Premier League.
Nelsen, 32, realises he will not be able to continue in England's top flight forever and is therefore giving thought to his options.
"I've still got two years left at Blackburn but after that, maybe," Nelsen told the Australian press when questioned on the subject. "I'm not sure how much more will be left in the legs after that."
Australian stars such as Craig Moore and Jason Culina have lit up the local scene since returning home and Nelsen believes the arrival of more European-based players will do wonders for the league.
"A lot of Australian players have gone back and done really well. It's great for both (Australia and New Zealand). It's exciting for the A-League," he added.
"Hopefully some of our players come back as well and this league will improve."
