Aruna Dindane has stated his intention to remain in England following the end of his season on loan with Portsmouth.
The Ivory Coast international has caught the eye since joining Pompey from Lens last summer.
He is set to leave Fratton Park when the transfer window reopens and has set his sights on a switch to another Premier League club.
After attracting interest from Blackburn in January, Dindane has now confirmed that he has since undergone a medical with the Lancashire outfit.
But he is staying focused on performing as well as he can in the final few games of the campaign for Pompey, culminating in the FA Cup final against Chelsea.
"I want to stay in England because it is a fantastic league. My first thought is playing here," he told
Sky Sports News.
"I spoke with Blackburn and I had the medical and everything, but now my target is finishing the season, and my agent will deal with Blackburn."
Anything is possible
Pompey will start as massive underdogs against Chelsea at Wembley but Dindane believes they are capable of pulling off a shock and lifting the FA Cup.
"Chelsea are a big team, they always play in the Champions League, but in the cup anything is possible and all the players know this," said Dindane, who credits manager Avram Grant with getting the best out of his Portsmouth squad.
"He knows what we can do to get all the players together, and he tries to give confidence to everybody."
