Wigan manager Roberto Martinez insists his side will not be taking Premier League safety for granted despite their dramatic fight back against Arsenal. The Latics came from two goals down in the final 11 minutes at the DW Stadium to succeed 3-2 in incredible fashion as Charles N'Zogbia hit the winner in injury time. Only minutes earlier Ben Watson and Titus Bramble had cancelled out goals from Theo Walcott and Mikael Silvestre to add to the sensational story. Wigan are now seven points clear of the relegation places ahead of next Saturday's trip to struggling West Ham but Martinez is not getting carried away, with games against drop zone occupants Hull City and league leaders Chelsea also on the agenda. He told Sky Sports when asked if the win meant top-flight safety: "Not at all. It is exactly the same focus for next week now. "We have a big game against West Ham. We need to make sure we finish the season as strong as we can be. "We have been working very hard over nine or 10 months now and we need to make sure we finish strongly." After losing eight and drawing one of their previous nine league meetings with Arsenal, it was a remarkable debut top-flight win over the Gunners, adding to victories earlier this season against Chelsea and Liverpool.

Reward

"We finally got the rewards our performance deserved," added Martinez. "We started the game well, played face-to-face with Arsenal but then we began to lose the ball cheaply and the game was going away from us. "Not many teams come back from 2-0 down against Arsenal, and the reason is the effort and belief the players showed today. "Moments like this are vital for our club, are the reason why we are involved in football and what our fans deserved. "To beat Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal in one season is something that doesn't come by accident, and I'm extremely proud of the players." Skipper Mario Melchiot hailed Martinez's wise words at the break as the reason for the revival. "At half-time the gaffer said, 'keep going guys, I believe in you and you can do it', and that made a difference," said Melchiot. Asked what the win would do for the club, he added: "It's very big. "It's going to make a lot of difference to the morale of the team and those who come and see us."
