Swansea's Ferrie Bodde is likely to be out until the start of next season due to his latest knee injury.

Dutch midfielder set for another knee operation

Ferrie Bodde is likely to be out until the start of next season after Swansea City confirmed the midfielder is set for another knee operation. The 27-year-old has endured a torrid time with injury since initially suffering cruciate ligament damage in November 2008. He made his comeback from that injury in September last year, but made just three appearances before suffering a recurrence of the problem. Bodde worked hard to strengthen his knee and returned to the Swansea team for Saturday's 1-0 win over Peterborough United, only to last just 32 minutes of the game. The Dutchman is now being prepared for another operation on his knee and he will play no further part in Swansea's push for promotion to the Premier League. "We all feel for Ferrie. It's something we never could have predicted," Swans boss Paulo Sousa told the club's official website. "He looked stronger than ever and fully integrated himself into training. It's a shock to everyone and all we can do now is wish him a speedy recovery again." Bodde added: "I'm devastated. It's nobody's fault, just one of those things."
