Birmingham full-back David Murphy may be about to leave the club on loan in order to regain match fitness.
The 25-year-old has recovered from a fractured knee cap he suffered 10 months ago, with Blues boss Alex McLeish revealing it would be beneficial to his rehabilitation if he was sent out on a short-term basis.
Murphy is likely to find his first-team opportunities limited due to Liam Ridgewell becoming first choice at left-back, with Franck Queudrue and Gregory Vignal also available to cover the position.
With City not due to play a reserve team game until the 10th of March, McLeish revealed that there had been some interest from clubs in the Championship.
"We could do with David going out on loan and playing some games now," he said.
"There has been a bit of interest in the Championship and he would be happy to go and get some action."
