Ruddy and Jutkiewicz extend loans ahead of possible longer stays

Motherwell have extended the loan deals of Everton duo John Ruddy and Lukas Jutkiewicz ahead of a possible longer stay. The month-long extension allows the clubs to discuss the players' futures during the transfer window, as the pair are wanted by Well on a long-term basis. Motherwell general manager Leeann Dempster says the extension will hopefully allow the clubs to now thrash out a deal which suits both parties. She said: "This extension gives us a little bit more time to get things sorted with Everton.

Very keen

"We are very keen to keep both players but with the January transfer window promising to be busy for both clubs, this gives us a safety net to ensure the guys can play in our vital matches this month." Goalkeeper Ruddy, 23, has made 20 league and cup starts for Well, while striker Jutiewicz has scored seven times in 14 starts and two substitute appearances in the SPL. Dempster added: "John and Lukas have done exceptionally well for us in the first half of the season and they both enjoy it at the club. "It's now a case of thrashing out a deal with Everton that works for both parties." But French defender Yassin Moutaouakil has returned to Charlton Athletic after three-and-a-half months at Fir Park.
