Midfielder unlikely to face Birmingham due to thigh injury

Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce admits he is unlikely to risk Vince Grella in Tuesday's game at Birmingham City. Grella picked up a thigh injury during Saturday's 0-0 draw with Hull City and was replaced just before half-time by Keith Andrews. The Australian midfielder, who was sidelined with a thigh problem earlier in the season, is now set to miss the midweek trip to St Andrews. Allardyce is confident it is not a serious injury for the 30-year-old and is adopting a prudent approach with Grella's fitness. "Vince was feeling his thigh a little bit," said Allardyce. "We didn't want to risk it any further because had we left him on longer then it could have risked the injury further, maybe tear it rather than just feel it tighten. "It will probably rule him out of Birmingham on Tuesday, but I don't think it will be any longer than that."
