Allardyce could swoop for Honduras defender

Honduras international defender Osman Chavez hopes to join Blackburn after linking up with the club on trial. The 25-year-old, who recently spent time training with Celtic, is available on a budget deal from local side Platense. Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is keen to add defensive cover to his relegation-threatened squad, although it remains to be seen whether Chavez qualifies for a permit. The defender has been in and out of his national side and is not guaranteed to land a permit based on international appearances. Chavez is looking to win a playing contract in Europe and has hinted Blackburn are leading the chase for his services. "Of all my options in Europe the strongest is from Blackburn and I hope to sign," explained Chavez.
