Blackburn Rovers full-back Martin Olsson admits he has been suffering from swine flu-like symptoms.
The 21-year-old, who has struggled for form this season, appears to be another casualty of the virus which has swept Ewood Park.
Olsson has played only six times in an injury-plagued season to date and looks to be facing another stint on the sidelines.
He insists he feels as though he is recovering but he remains a major doubt for Sweden's European Under-21 Championship qualifier against Kazakhstan next week.
"I have been noticing the symptoms for some time," Olsson told Swedish football site Fotbollskanalen.
"I spoke to some of the players a few days ago and told them how I felt and I have exactly the same symptoms as they have described.
"The club doctor also believes I have swine flu."
Olsson has been advised to get plenty of rest to shake off the virus which will likely keep him out for at least two weeks.
The break in Premier League fixtures has come at a good time for Olsson who is desperate to get back into things with Blackburn.
"From a footballing perspective things do look better, at least at practice," he said.
