Spireites boss wants Man City winger to return on loan to Saltergate

Chesterfield manager John Sheridan has vowed to 'try his hardest' to re-sign Donal McDermott on loan from Manchester City in January. The 20-year-old winger has returned to the Premier League big-spenders after a successful three-month stint with the Spireites. But Sheridan is hoping to lure the prospect back to Saltergate for another loan spell in the new year. He told The Star: "I'm very disappointed that he's (McDermott) got to go back, we'd have loved to have kept him and I tried my hardest to do that, but it's in City's hands now.

Massive threat

"He's been great while he's been here, scored goals and been a massive threat for us, particularly at home. "He's been good to have around the place and I'll be trying my hardest to get him back in January."
