Stearman and Surman facing injury lay-offs

Wolves have been hit with a double injury blow with the news Richard Stearman and Andrew Surman have both picked up knocks in training. A miserable training day at Molineux saw defender Stearman pick up an ankle injury that will rule him out of Wolves' next three games, while Surman has suffered a knee problem. Wolves boss Mick McCarthy, who will now have to wait on scans to lean how serious Surman's injury is, admits it has been a miserable day. "It's not been a great day," he conceded on the club's official website. "Andrew has done something to his knee after he twisted it while Richard has got a swelling just above his ankle. "We sent him for an X-ray thinking he might have fractured it but he hasn't. "He's out a while and certainly won't be involved in the three games over the next week - after that we'll have to see." McCarthy's disappointment has been tempered somewhat by the return to his squad of trio Kevin Foley, Michael Knightly and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake for Sunday's game with Blackburn.
