Skysports.com understands Portsmouth have signed former Sheffield United forward Danny Webber.
Webber is able to join Portsmouth outside the transfer window as he is available on a free transfer.
The 27-year-old has been without a club since seeing out his contract at Sheffield United earlier this summer
The former Manchester United youngster is believed to have signed a two-year deal at Fratton Park.
Webber will help fill the void left by David Nugent's departure to Burnley and he will hope to add to Paul Hart's attacking options following Portsmouth's disappointing start to the season.
