Deportivo de La Coruna could make a bid to sign Giovani Dos Santos from Tottenham Hotspur if the Galician outfit lose Angel Lafita to Real Zaragoza this summer, their coach has revealed.
Miguel Angel Lotina is a fan of the forward who was named as the Player of the Tournament as Mexico won the Gold Cup recently and explained that he could be an option.
Dos Santos has been unable to convince Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp to give him regular chances in the first team and he was even loaned to Championship side Ipswich Town for the second half of last term.
Lotina does not have such doubts about the hot prospect and if Zaragoza activate their buy-back clause for Lafita, then the former Barca starlet could be who he looks to.
"I know Giovani very well," Lotina was quoted as saying by AS.
"Last year we spoke to him, but then Tottenham came in.
"As for Lafita, well, there is nothing. But if he goes then we will start with plan B. But [Dos Santos] is an interesting player, but he is not the only one."
