Hull City forward Craig Fagan is to undergo a hernia operation and will miss the remainder of the club's pre-season schedule.
The 26-year-old was due to travel with the rest of the Tigers' squad for the Premier League Asia Trophy but will now remain at home for surgery.
KC Stadium boss Phil Brown is hoping the former Derby player will be back in contention for selection in time for the start of the new season.
Hull begin their campaign with a testing trip to Stamford Bridge to tackle Chelsea on Saturday, 15th August, live on Sky Sports 1 and HD1.
Brown told the Hull Daily Mail: "It can be 10 days to a fortnight so hopefully he'll be back on the training ground post Aberdeen but pre-Chelsea."
