Premier League new boys Wolves fell to a 2-0 defeat to Bristol City in their latest pre-season outing.
Goals from Danny Haynes and Nicky Maynard were enough to give City an impressive victory at Ashton Gate.
City were inches away from breaking the deadlock after just nine minutes when David Clarkson saw his shot hit the inside of the post.
Wolves midfielder Nenad Milijas went close for the visitors when his long-range shot was turned round the post by City's trialist keeper Martin Lejsal.
The home side opened the scoring on 33 minutes when Haynes worked his way past Christophe Berra before firing the ball past Wayne Hennessey.
Bristol City doubled their lead five minutes later with a superb long-range effort from Maynard.
Lejsal did his chances of winning a move to Ashton Gate no harm at all with superb saves to deny Milijas, Stephen Ward and George Friend in the second half.
Another Wolves XI were held to a goalless draw by League Two side Hereford at Edgar Street.
