Sedan defender Paul Baysse claims he is in Sunderland ahead of a possible move to the Stadium of Light.
The 21-year-old has been linked with West Ham this summer as reports suggest his club will be willing to listen to offers in the region of €3million (£2.6m).
Sunderland, though, appear to be in pole position for the ex-Bordeaux player's signature as boss Steve Bruce aims to continue his summer recruitment process.
Baysse claims Sunderland are interested in signing him, adding: "I am saying nothing else."
Rumours imply that the full-back is set to be offered a four-year deal in the North East.
