Rovers man determined to avoid another season of struggle

Stephen Warnock believes Blackburn should be aiming to secure a place in Europe when the new season kicks off. Rovers were struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League for much of last term after making a miserable start under Paul Ince. The appointment of Sam Allardyce following Ince's sacking provided greater stability, but it was not until the closing weeks of the season that their top-flight status was secured. Warnock, who has been moved into midfield from his previous defensive duties, insists everyone at Ewood Park should be looking up ahead of the new campaign. He told the club's official website: "We don't want to be in the same situation we found ourselves in last year, scrapping for our lives to stay in this league. "We want to be pushing for Europe and being ambitious. "Hopefully everyone sees it the same as I do."
