Martin Petrov believes that given time Manchester City will be challenging for trophies sooner rather than later.
The Bulgaria international, who missed virtually the whole of last season with knee ligament damage, believes that Sheikh Mansour's heavy investment is slowly but surely making a difference.
Petrov insists Mark Hughes' squad are hungry for success and that given time will be fighting for a top four spot and competing for all the domestic trophies on offer.
"City want success and the money we have will help us to become a better team and become as good as Arsenal and Chelsea," he insisted.
"Before Chelsea got their investment, they were no better than we are now so we know that if we spend well we can challenge for trophies and titles in the future."
"[The fans] should believe in this team because all we need is time."
