Michael Chopra has completed a record £4million return to former club Cardiff City from Sunderland. The 25-year-old moved to the Stadium of Light from Cardiff in the summer of 2007 in a deal thought to be worth in the region of £5million. Chopra, who started his career at Newcastle, never found his best form on his return to the North East and spent the second half of last season on-loan at Ninian Park.

Relieved

"I'm really glad it is all sorted now and like all the other lads excited and determined to go that extra mile to gain promotion," Chopra told the club's official website. "We are all putting in 110 per cent in training and there is a good feeling within the squad. The new stadium looks magnificent and the lads can't wait for the opener against Scunthorpe. "These are exciting times for Cardiff and I'm really glad to now be a part of this."
