Rummenigge confirms 'serious contact' with Chelsea for full-back

Bayern Munich remain hopeful of signing Jose Bosingwa after confirming talks with Chelsea are ongoing. German giants Bayern have identified Bosingwa as their prime target to fill the problemetic right-back spot at the Allianz Arena. Reports suggested that the trail had gone cold, but Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed the club still want to sign the Portugal international. Rummenigge says there is 'serious contact' with Chelsea and believes the 26-year-old could make the move to the Bundesliga.

Convinced

"We are still on the look-out for a right-sided defender," Rummenigge told Sport Bild. "We therefore continue to have a serious contact with Chelsea. "We are convinced about Bosingwa and that he would fit in really well at FC Bayern. "I don't think the book has been closed on this issue yet." Bayern have still to replace the retired Willy Sagnol at right-back, with Massimo Oddo failing to impress in the position last season.
