Wolves are close to signing Southampton star Andrew Surman, skysports.com understands.
The Premier League new boys are understood to have had a bid accepted by cash-strapped Southampton for the England Under 21 international.
Southampton are resigned to losing Surman due to their financial problems and their relegation from the Championship.
A number of clubs have been linked with the classy midfielder, but Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is determined to win the race for his signature.
Surman is ready to leave St Mary's for the chance to play Premier League football and he is expected to hold talks with Wolves officials at Molineux later this week.
