Nicklas Bendtner believes next season at Arsenal will mark a critical point in his career as he aims to become a top striker.
The Denmark international had his critics last campaign but he still finished the term with 15 goals to his name.
Bendtner, 21, is now targeting an impressive 2009/10 season as he looks to prove that he can be one of the best forwards in the world.
"I see next season as the season when I get my big breakthrough," he told Ekstra Bladet.
"That's when I am going to score the goals that the best strikers do. That is the last step that I need to take."
He added: "Fifteen goals (for the season) is satisfactory but when I look at the number of chances I had, I should have scored a few more.
"But 15 is okay, but I wouldn't mind a few more in next season."
