Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that Nicklas Bendtner was 'setup' after the striker was pictured leaving a London bar in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Photographs showed the Dane looking worse for wear, with his jeans below his waist, following the Gunners' UEFA Champions League semi-final exit against Manchester United.
Wenger has since confirmed that 21-year-old Bendtner has been fined by the club for his actions, but the French coach has suggested someone pulled his jeans down.
"I was angry - but he has been set up," said Wenger.
He added: "People make the story that he was drunk. He was not drunk. He did not put his trousers down, somebody did it for him and somebody was posted there with a camera."
