Marek Cech intends to leave West Brom this summer after growing frustrated at a lack of opportunities.
The Slovakia international only joined the Baggies from Porto in July 2008, but has endured a torrid time at The Hawthorns.
He has been restricted to just two Premier League starts, with his route to Tony Mowbray's first team blocked by club stalwart Paul Robinson.
Cech admits he cannot afford to play back-up for any longer, especially with the 2010 World Cup fast approaching, and will now be looking to take on a new challenge at the end of the season.
"My season here at West Brom is the worst of my career. For sure I'm looking to a change of club because of this year," he said.
"I think things won't change here, I need to leave to play whole games.
"I'm a national player, I need to play. If I don't play I will lose my place in the national team.
"We are first in the qualifying table now, we have a big chance to go to the World Cup, and if I'm not there I'd be very sad."
