Emmerson Boyce has confirmed he is in talks with Wigan Athletic with a view to extending his contract.
The former Crystal Palace man still has over a year left on his deal, but the Latics are keen to secure his services for the long term.
Boyce has made over 80 league starts since joining the JJB outfit in 2006 and has played a key part in their continued stay in England's top flight.
The 29-year-old has enjoyed his time at the club and has hinted he would be more than happy to put pen-to-paper on a new deal.
"My contract is up at the end of next season and we are in talks about a new one," explained Boyce.
"The club has always been good to me and I've had a good relationship with the fans."
