Pompey midfielder struggling with knee problem

Paul Hart has revealed that Sean Davis is doubtful for Portsmouth's game against West Brom after suffering a knee injury. The midfielder picked up the problem in training ahead of Saturday's goalless draw with Hull City and he played no part at the KC Stadium. He is still experiencing discomfort as stitches were required in his knee, so Hart is unsure whether he will be able to figure in this weekend's key clash with the Baggies. Hart is more upbeat about the fitness of Jermaine Pennant, who was an unused substitute against the Tigers after recovering from a calf problem. "Sean got an injury in training and had to have stitches across his knee so it's very, very sore," Hart said in The News. "It's improved a little bit but it is right across the knee so it's in a tricky place. He's been walking about with a straight leg. "Jermaine will be back for West Brom but we'll have to see about Davis. "With Jermaine, he had a calf strain so to ask him to do the 90 minutes may have been too much against Hull."
