Middlesbrough defender David Wheater believes their star quality gives them an edge over their rivals in the battle to avoid relegation.
Boro boosted their survival hopes with a 2-0 win over Liverpool to record their first league victory since November.
Stewart Downing was Boro's star performer against Liverpool with Tuncay scoring the crucial second goal after Xabi Alonso had turned Downing's corner into his own net for the opener.
Wheater feels Downing and Tuncay could be the difference for Boro in their bid for survival.
"The difference between us and the teams around us is they don't have players of Downing and Tuncay's quality," Wheater told The Sun.
"With the players we have, we should be higher up the table and that showed here. Believe it or not, all our players thought we'd win.
"It has been a very difficult time for the manager, too. But we have always had faith in him and us."
