Tigers star seeks new deal

Ryan France is hoping to be awarded enough opportunities this season to earn himself a new deal at Hull City. The 28-year-old will be out of contract at KC Stadium in the summer, with a five-and-a-half year association with the Tigers set to reach its conclusion. France has been a stalwart of the club's meteoric rise through the divisions in recent years, having joined a Third Division outfit in 2003. He has struggled to force his way into the first-team fold this term, though, with only two Premier League appearances to his name. However, he believes he is capable of competing at the highest level and is hoping that, as a regular in Phil Brown's FA Cup plans, he can yet do enough to persuade the Tigers to extend his stay. "I know my contract is up at the end of the season but I've just got to try and show the manager that I'm able to play at this level" France told the Hull Daily Mail. "If I get the nod off the gaffer it's an opportunity for me to show what I can do in the Premier League.

Pressure

"Hopefully, the manager will reward me with another contract. "But if he doesn't see me as a Hull City player next year then I'll shake his hand because I've enjoyed playing under him. I don't feel any pressure about it, this is what I love doing. "I could be at home working with my friends but I'm in a job that I love doing so I just want to show the gaffer that I can play at this level." France is expected to be handed another opportunity to prove his worth in Hull's FA Cup fifth round replay against Sheffield United on Thursday, a game the midfielder is desperate to win. "It would be nice to go on a cup run, as long as I've been here we've never had a decent run" he said. "It's another chance for a win and we haven't had many of them recently. "If we can get it tonight it'll give us that little bit of extra confidence to take into the league. It's an opportunity for a lift and we'll take it from there."
