Johnson could be offered escape from Cardiff loan spell

Swedish club Malmo are showing an interest in Fulham striker Eddie Johnson, who is currently on loan at Cardiff City. Johnson joined Fulham 12 months ago from Kansas City Wizards, but has yet to score in English football. He is on a season-long loan at Cardiff, but has started just three games in the Championship, while the signings of Michael Chopra and Quincy Owusu-Abeyie could limit his opportunities further. Reports now claim that Malmo are keen to sign the USA international on loan in a deal which would see his time at Cardiff cut short. The 24-year-old's agent Richard Motzkin has confirmed that he has travelled to Malmo, who are one of Fulham manager Roy Hodgson's former clubs. Motzkin told Eurosport.se: "I have been in Malmo, but I have no further comments." Malmo are looking to replace Ola Toivonen, who has joined PSV Eindhoven, although the club would not be drawn on any interest in Johnson. Sporting director Hasse Borg said: "I might have heard of the player and his name."
