Newcastle new boy player Ryan Taylor believes the Magpies are in a false position in the Premier League and it will be a 'big plus' if he can help them stay up.
The defender switched to St James' Park on transfer deadline day as part of the deal which took Charles N'Zogbia the other way.
Taylor told Sky Sports that he was getting ready to leave to head off to a "really nice part of the world" and that the last few days had been hectic for him.
"It's been a bit nuts actually," he said.
"(I've) been to the game yesterday and had the medical Saturday but it all never went through to about four o'clock (on Monday) which was obviously a big relief for me.
"I just wanted it done as quickly as possible, lucky for me it has."
Taylor is excited to be joining a club of Newcastle's stature.
"I think the club is a huge, huge club - one of the biggest in the league, you only have to look at the fan base to see that," he said.
"I went to the game yesterday, it was fantastic you know, the support they had. Everyone at the game was asking me 'Have I signed' and I was telling them 'Yes, but it hasn't gone through yet.'
"At the minute they are in a false position - if I can obviously help the lads get out of it then that will be a big plus."
