Plymouth Argyle have completed the signing of Alan Judge on loan from Blackburn.
The 20-year-old has joined the Pilgrims in a deal which is set to run until the end of the season.
The highly-rated Republic of Ireland Under 21 international has recently penned a new long-term contract at Ewood Park but is yet to force his way into Rovers' first-team reckoning on a regular basis.
It is hoped that a spell at Home Park will prove beneficial to all concerned, with Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock delighted to have the youngster on board.
"We need a freshness in midfield and he can play several positions in there," Sturrock told the Pilgrims' official website.
"We've had him watched several times. He is a livewire, box-to-box type player. He is very similar to David Norris in that he is a pocket dynamo.
"He comes into the squad for Saturday (against Ipswich). I will have a look at him in training and decide overnight.
"He is very hungry for the challenge and I have taken him as an offensive player to come from midfield and support the front two."
