Harry Redknapp has identified Luka Modric, Wilson Palacios and Didier Zokora as three of the key players in his side.
Palacios is set to make his Tottenham debut against Bolton this weekend after joining from Wigan and Redknapp believes he is a complete midfielder.
Modric has started to blossom in recent weeks and produced a man-of-the-match performance in the 3-1 victory over Stoke on Tuesday evening.
Redknapp has also been impressed by Zokora and, with Jermaine Jenas back to fitness, is happy with the options at his disposal in the centre of the field.
"I need to get Palacios in my team because he's everything I've been wanting in a midfield player," Redknapp said.
"There's Modric and I've got to shape my team up where I get these players in my team.
"Zokora's a top-class player, one that lots of big clubs would ask about.
"His passing sometimes is not top, top class but the rest of his game is - he covers the ground, closes space, tackles and is an important player for this club."
Redknapp accepts that he may have to alter his formation following Palacios' arrival but he wants Modric to continue to express himself.
"I'd have to (change the system) really. Palacios is a central midfield player and I need Zokora as well.
"Zokora did a good job against Stoke defensively - he let Luka play and sat in there. Between the three of them, and Jenas coming back, it's a strong midfield.
"It gives me some good options.
"We've got to keep giving him (Modric) the ball because you get him on the ball and he makes things happen."
