Manchester City new boy Nigel de Jong is excited about the potential at the Eastlands outfit.
De Jong completed his big-money move to City from Hamburg earlier this week and the Dutch international has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal.
The midfielder admits City face a battle to fulfil their ambitions of challenging the top four, but he is optimistic the future is bright for Mark Hughes' side.
"I am happy to have joined Manchester City," De Jong told Sky Sports News. "It is a good club, well-known also in Europe.
"I am happy to be here and hope to be successful with the team.
"It is not going to be easy to get the project going, everbody knows it is a project of one or two years.
"I am glad to be part of the project, it is going to be hard for us, but I think we can manage it if the team stick together."
