Tottenham have moved a step closer to signing Wilson Palacios after the player underwent a medical at White Hart Lane.
Spurs have been locked in talks with Palacios after they finally agreed a deal in the region of £14million with Wigan for the midfielder.
Wigan were loathe to lose Palacios with the 24-year-old establishing himself as a key member of Steve Bruce's side since his arrival from Deportivo Olimpo last year.
It is understood that Palacios had reservations about moving to London from the North West, where he was settled, but has agreed to the transfer.
Spurs are believed to have beaten off a host of clubs to sign the highly-rated Honduran and he is expected to tie up his move to North London in the next few days.
TargetMeanwhile, reports emanating from Italy suggest Tottenham are keen on signing Inter Milan defender Nicolas Burdisso.
Burdisso is well down the pecking order at Inter and has been linked with a move away for some time.
Spurs are believed to have sounded out Inter about a deal for the Argentine as they look to bring in a new defender to provide cover for the injured Ledley King.
