Austrian striker feels he impressed Sturrock during trial

Roman Kienast claims Plymouth Argyle want to sign him following the Austrian's trial at Home Park. The striker spent last week training with the Championship club as he looks to secure a move away from Norwegian side HamKam. Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock admitted that he was weighing up an offer, although he raised concerns over Kienast's level of match fitness and the price of a deal. Kienast believes he impressed Sturrock and says the Pilgrims chief is keen to arrange a deal before the close of the transfer window.

Too early

The former Rapid Vienna forward is now waiting to see if Plymouth can reach an agreement with HamKam to push through a move. "The manager wants me," Kienast told sportnet.at. "He said from his point of view a transfer would be okay to make. "I feel I have impressed, but it's too early to say it is done. "Things have to be sorted out and arranged first, I am still under contract at HamKam."
