Harry Redknapp has confessed that he does not have any faith in reserve goalkeeper Cesar Sanchez.
First choice stopper Heurelho Gomes injured his groin in last week's 1-0 defeat to Wigan and the problem has yet to clear up.
Despite the injury Gomes has continued between the sticks after Redknapp selected him for the 1-1 draw with Portsmouth on Sunday.
The injury is so bad that the former PSV stopper has to rely on his defenders to take goal-kicks for him.
Cesar, who is on loan from Zaragoza in Spain, has made just one appearance for Spurs this season when he came off the bench in the Carling Cup win over Liverpool.
The 61-year-old's lack of faith in his number two means that he is likely to step up his search for a reserve goalkeeper this week.
"It's an area I'm looking at," he said.
"I'm looking for someone who is good enough for the first team when you need him.
"If I had confidence in the Spanish goalkeeper, I would have played him."
