Rafa Benitez believes Jermaine Pennant will join Portsmouth, but expects Daniel Agger to stay at Liverpool.

The Reds have agreed terms with Pompey for their out of favour winger and are waiting on the player to accept the proposal.

Pennant is out of contract at Anfield in the summer and has been linked with a move to Italian giants AC Milan and reigning Spanish champions Real Madrid.

However, he is now set for discussions with Portsmouth officials and Benitez is confident an arrangement can be reached.

The Spaniard said: "We have agreed with Portsmouth. We are waiting for news but I think it will be okay."

Danish defender Agger is another to have been strongly linked with a move to Milan in recent weeks, but Benitez insists the talented centre-half is going nowhere.

He added: "I had a conversation with him two days ago. He wants to stay."
