Stoke have agreed to let Tom Soares join Championship strugglers Charlton on a one-month loan deal.
The 21-year-old midfielder only joined the Potters last summer, but has struggled to win a regular place in Tony Pulis' side.
He would have been hoping to make an instant impact upon his arrival in the Premier League, but has been forced to head back to the Championship.
He shone in the second tier during his days at Crystal Palace and will be hoping to leave a similar impression this time around.
Pulis is certainly hoping a spell away from the Britannia Stadium will prove to be beneficial for his promising youngster and feels a step down will help Soares to get the first-team action he craves.
"Tom needs to get games under his belt," he said.
