Taye Taiwo's agent claims Marseille could be tempted to sell the full-back, if Manchester City offer the 'right money'.
Despite signing Wayne Bridge from Chelsea, City have also been linked with a move for Nigerian left-back Taiwo during the transfer window.
Taiwo told skysports.com earlier this week that he is in no rush to move to the Premier League and would be happy to wait until the summer before discussing his future.
However, the player's agent Victor Macdonald believes Marseille could be willing to cash in on Taiwo, if the bid is big enough.
"For Marseille to say no is not just something to wave away just like that," Macdonald told Lagos radio station Brila FM.
"It means they cannot just be speaking for saying's sake.
"They actually need Taiwo because he is a good player, but that is not to say they cannot be convinced to sell him.
"If Man City offer the right money, Marseille will sell - I'm quite sure.
"I am happy for Taye Taiwo and it's a good opportunity for him to get a good transfer and make some good money in football."
