Hull City veteran Nick Barmby is waiting to see whether he will be offered fresh terms at The KC Stadium.
The former England international is out of contract at the end of the season, but as yet has not held talks over a fresh deal.
The 34-year-old has featured in 10 games so far this season and is hopeful that he will do enough to get a new deal.
"That is football. You sign a contract and then get your head down and try and earn a new one," he told Sky Sports News.
"That is how it works in football, that is no problem to me. I will keep my head down and keep working hard and hopefully stay in the first team."
Barmby insists that he has no problems with the fact talks have not yet begun.
"It is up to the club, I am sure they will say something one way or another so it is not a problem," he said.
