Matt Derbyshire is desperate for Roque Santa Cruz to stay at Blackburn Rovers as he loves playing alongside him.
Santa Cruz has been heavily linked with a move away from Rovers in January with Manchester City boss Mark Hughes tipped to launch a big-money raid on his former club.
However, fellow strike partner Derbyshire believes the club would be better off retaining the Paraguay international and he hopes the ex-Bayern ace stays at Ewood Park.
"I want Roque to stay at Blackburn," said Derbyshire. "He is a fantastic player who I love playing alongside.
"He has been great for the club, he is a great goalscorer and hopefully he won't go.
"He is a great bloke to have around the place, he's always cheerful and always works hard."
