Pettigrew accepts AEK offer for trial spell

Former Chelsea defender Adrian Pettigrew is to have a trial with Greek side AEK Athens. The youngster, who was released by the Blues last summer following loan spells at Rotherham and Brentford, is expected to be put through his paces by boss Dusan Bajevic in the hope of kick-starting his career. Speaking to Greek newspaper SportDay ahead of his week's trial, Pettigrew said: "AEK is an interesting prospect for me. I have heard a lot about the club and the manager and I am satisfied with what I have heard. "I know that Mr Bajevic really likes to work with young players - that's why it wasn't hard for me to accept AEK's offer for a trial. "The invitation is an honour and I will be trying my best during my stay in Athens."
