Agent says Valencia would love to join Madrid but no contact has yet been made

Antonio Valencia's agent has admitted a move to Real Madrid would be a dream for the Wigan winger, but says there has been no contact yet from the Spanish champions. The Ecuadorian star has been attracting interest after a series of scintillating displays, including scoring one and making the other goals in the 3-0 demolition of Blackburn earlier this month. Reports in Spain have suggested new Real coach Juande Ramos was lining up a big-money bid for Valencia, but his agent Diego Herrera has again played down the speculation until a formal expression of interest materialises.

Incredible opportunity

He told AS: "It would be a dream for Antonio to join Madrid, an incredible opportunity. But until there is something official I do not want to say anything. "Nobody has said anything to me. When there is an official statement from someone in authority at Madrid, called Mijatovic or Bucero, informing that there is an offer, then we will speak. "I understand that Madrid want to complete the signing in the first week of January. We will see what happens over the next few days. "Next week we will know for certain if Antonio is to become a Real Madrid player."
