West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Mowbray has revealed Hamburg midfielder Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe has completed a trial with the club.
The 19-year-old Belgian trained with the Premier League club after Hamburg agreed to the proposal, and has now returned to the Bundesliga.
Mowbray is yet to decide whether to pursue Odjidja-Ofoe's signature in the January transfer window but admitted he had caught the eye during his short time at The Hawthorns.
"He went back yesterday," Mowbray said on the club's official website. "He's just a young 19-year-old boy really.
"One of our scouts knows him from his days at Anderlecht. Hamburg were good enough to let him come over for a few days.
"Whether we take that any further, I'm not sure, and we'll wait and see. We'll have a few conversations about him.
"But I would suggest he's not a player who is going to come and smash his way straight into our team. He's not a priority at this time.
"I think he would describe himself as a holding midfield player."
