FC Twente have turned down Ajax's offer for highly-rated winger Eljero Elia.
A host of Premier League and Bundesliga clubs are chasing the 21-year-old, who has impressed for Steve McClaren's side this year.
The likes of Everton, Manchester City, Hull, Stoke, Blackburn, Bolton are all believed to be considering bids, whilst Bayern Munich and Schalke are also keen.
However, Ajax are hopeful of being able to keep Elia in Holland, although Twente have rejected their initial bid.
"Ajax have made an offer for Eljero [Elia], but we're not even considering it," Twente chairman Joop Munsterman told TC/Tubantia.
"Ajax's offer was an insult for a player of Elia's level."
Elia looks likely to wait until the January transfer window before making a decision about his future, when the English clubs look set to make their moves.
