Serbian international Nemanja Matic admits he was impressed with Middlesbrough after spending time on trial with the club.
MFK Kosice midfielder trained with Boro last week, before making his international debut for Serbia against Poland.
It is believed Boro are now looking into sealing a deal for the 20-year-old, who admits he liked what he saw.
"It was very good there, I was satisfied with it," Matic said.
"It is obvious that the club has great facilities and I was amazed by the training head-quarters with 10 football pitches."
Matic was forced to cut shot his stay on Teesside as he was handed his maiden international call, but he is confident he made a good impression.
"I underwent a medical, then for two days I was training with the team and got to know the coach Gareth Southgate," he said.
"I have a good feeling overall about it.
"I have news that they are willing to sign me, but I don't know anything more specific.
"To play in England is a dream for everyone, including me.
"There are some other offers and everything will be decided during January."
Matic was at Boro along with 18-year-old team-mate Juraj Hovancik - who also enjoyed his stint with the Premier League club.
"It is a dream for every footballer to play in England," he told Kosice's website.
"I have been at Middlesbrough for only two weeks but it has been a superb experience. And now, if I add to it the positive feedback, it is even a better feeling.
"Middlesbrough have only four training sessions a week but everyone shows their maximum effort.
"It is played at an extreme tempo and very aggressively. The club facilities at Boro are fantastic.
"In one building there is everything you need for football and around they have ten football grounds in excellent shape. That must warm the heart of every football player."
