Sunderland's Kieran Richardson has tipped former club West Brom to avoid relegation this season.
Richardson turned in an impressive performance on Saturday as the Black Cats crushed the Baggies 4-0 at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
The result left West Brom six points adrift of safety and without a win in ten games, but Richardson believes they can turn the situation around.
The midfielder, who spent time on loan at The Hawthorns in 2005, feels West Brom are strong enough to pull clear of trouble just as they did when he was with the club.
He said: "It's hard down at the bottom, but they have done it before and I am sure they can get out of it again.
"If you have done it once, you can do it again.
"They are not a bad side. They play their football and I am sure their manager will do his best to try to get them out of there."
